Media Specialist Position Wanted

Due to a couple retirements within the office staff, we are

seeking to hire a new staff position. This will be referred to as

a “media specialist” and will be a full-time position. This

person will create content for multiple communication

channels and will be the primary contact as well as the

coordinator of parish communications. It is an FLSA non-

exempt position.

Essential functions of this position include the following:

  • Create the content of parish messages using text,

graphics, or audio/visual published through a variety of

media including but not limited to Facebook, parish app,

YouTube, website, and printed bulletins.

  • Coordinate the timing and tone of parish communications

across all media.

  • Develop and maintain a parish media style guide.
  • Edit other’s work for quality and to match the parish

media style before publishing.

  • Engage with feedback on social media posts and emails in

a timely manner.

  • Communicate frequently with the pastor, office


and (as needed) other parish/community leadership for

future event planning and for post-event follow up.

  • Other duties as needed.
